The Mission

Be A Legend is here to save the lives of rescue dogs. Each year approximately 390,000 dogs are euthanized, and we believe that this number can be changed. Behavioral issues have been cited as a main reason for dogs being surrendered to shelters. Thats where we come in.

Our Story

Our journey started at the beginning of 2023 with a vision to change rescue lives one dog at a time. Our goal is to have their lives go from Legends in waiting to Legendary companions. By partnering with All Star K9, we strive to rescue 3-4 dogs a month to find them a home they deserve. During their time with us and All Star K9, they will be trained and groomed to help transition them into caring homes, which is why we started our store. By providing stylish and affordable clothing, in addition to having customer support and appreciation, we are able to help fund the rescue dogs.

About The Owner

Welcome to Be A Legend! My name is Morgan Haupt, the owner and operator of this small business, and I am so excited to finally be up and running! I am currently a sophomore attending Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland, working towards my bachelor degree with a marketing major and an entrepreneurship minor.

The journey of getting to where I am today and being able to start this business has been amazing. I have a great deal of thanks to give to my father who has been my role model, mentor, and motivator throughout my whole life. As a child, I was always fascinated by my father's dog training business, and loved interacting with all of the legendary canines that visited.

During high school I started to work for my father in terms of cleaning, training dogs, and talking to clients. It was during this time that I began to focus on the business and marketing aspects of these skills, and how I could use my enthusiasm of building a client base towards creating my own business. Once I made the decision of pursuing a degree, I knew immediately that I wanted to major in business in order to educate myself on managing my own effectively and efficiently.

Growing up I loved seeing the models walk the runway in elegant and bright designs, and now I love to find clothing brands with innovative and bold clothing styles, and how creative they market their brand. Seeing different business brands with fun storefront displays or eye catching graphic designs give me ideas for how I could potentially run my business, which always gets me excited for the future.

I felt a calling towards working with dogs due to witnessing how such a strong and lasting bond can be formed with a client and their companion. Seeing the progress go from strangers to closer than ever is a feeling that compares to no other, and being a part of that process is such a privilege that I am thankful for every day.

At the beginning of 2023 I took all of my passion and love and turned it into my own career idea. From my experience with working for All Star K9 with my father, my own interest in the clothing industry, and seeing the growth in relationships between clients and their dogs, my idea of my own business practice began to become a reality. Under this business, I am able to use my creativity and passion to design clothing and run a practice through my own style. With the financial income of selling my products, I am able to rescue a number of dogs per month, in addition to working with All Star K9 to transform them from legends in waiting, to dogs with legendary lives.
